Finally getting the engine going after sitting for a long time and I think it needs a good tune up.
Can anyone tell me what the timing should be set to? Dwell?
It's a 1.7l 8V with twin dellortos carbs...
Cheers

Hi Rich
Dwell is non adjustable with electronic ignition. Timing marks are on the flywheel under a round plastic cover near the dizzie.

Cheers, I can build the cars but when it comes to tuning I'm hopeless! My mechanic neighbour just asked me to get the tuning specs so he can do it, is there anything he needs to know other than the timing marks on the flywheel?
Thanks,
Rich |

First mark 8degrees btdc at idle or static
Second mark( if there are 3)22degrees btdc at 2000 rpm
Third mark( or second if only 2) max advance 36 degrees btdc at 4500 rpm
Hope this helps
