I finally got around to changing my fuel filler concertina sleeve today that recently travelled all the way from Athens thanks to Than.
An anticipated 1/2 hour job took a lot longer and was a bit of a 'slag'.
1) Jubilee clip nut heads completely perished- in the end mole grips and force resulted in clips breaking apart and falling off- thank goodness.
2) Bolt securing plastic downpipe captive nut broke (suprise suprise) as soon as put any force on it so couldn't remove bolt, which meant very little movement available on the downpipe and thus removing old concertina was almost impossible- I think I swore once or twice!
Anyway got the new one on, and got some more waxoyl sprayed around the fuel filler area .
The old concertina was pretty perished- sure it would probably have lasted a few more years in reality, but had some pretty deep cracks in it.
