Hi,

Does anyone know where to get 16v cambelt tensioners on their own from. Alfashop used to do VEM13614 items but now only seem to do an expensive gates kit with belts.

I got a pair of DAYCO 94387 belts from camskill.co.uk for just £20.42 inc vat delivered- bargain- just ned to find the tensioners now Rolling Eyes

Looks like they'll send them from the USA to UK for £4 too! Confused Very Happy

Ok, i think in hindsight i'd probably recommend others to get the gates kit Rolling Eyes

Mangos said they could order genuine pulleys at £20 each, but didn't know if Alfa could actually supply them Shocked

However i have managed to order some SKF pulleys VKM22510 which are going to come from Belgium, and should be with Allparts in Watford mid next week. Will be about £9 each. I went to school with a guy there and he really did some work on his system and the blower for me.

Quinton Hazell have large stock of QTT516 pulleys in the UK. but they retail at about £20 each!

I've also ordered a QH thermostat QTH420K which is going to be about £20.

Hi,

you may be interested in knowing that i do not use QH tensioners any more, since i had one literally explode after only 10 000kms on a 1.5 boxer engine which resulted in bent valves. The water pump, which was QH also and replaced at the same time, had symptoms of a failing bearing, so it was replaced too.
Now i distrust QH stuff and only install SKF or Gates timing kits, SKF water pumps. My 1.3 33 is now reaching 740 000kms, gets new belts every 40 000 kms and new tensioners every second belt change, have never experienced a failure, and always used Gates or Alfa timing belts and rollers. And the water pump has more than 400 000 kms on the clock. SKF, too.

regards,
zp
