I have a problem (Alfa 33 1.5.i.e) my radiator cooling fan does not start automaticly..even when I short conect wires on thermal switch it's not starting ..it works only directly conected to the battery.. so it's 99,9% fan relay.... but I cannot find location of it anywhere????
I have 33 workshop manual series 3 and and it shows the position of it only in turbodiesel version.. not in 1,3 ... 1.5 ... 1.7....or 16V...
Could anyone help ... or to connect thermal switch directly to cooling fan...avoiding the relay????
is it safer with relay...?  |

i didnt know there was a relay isnt it just the thermostat switch on the radiator that has broke

AFAIK There is no relay on boxer egines.
Thermal switch is only one that passes voltage to fan.

Check the wires/plug near the radiator thermostat - I had this happen on my first two 33s.
