|

Hi All,
Am having problems with my 1994 Alfa 33 16v sportwagon. The centre box (with cat) is blowing and this has got significantly worse in the past couple of days. Coming back from a job, I had a decent 15 mile hack down the motorway at consistently high speed and after stopping at the petrol station, the car had a very bad misfire which only clears up around 3500-4000 rpm.
When the car is cold, the misfire is not noticeable.
My thoughts are maybe the exhaust and cat maybe causing the problem, but perhaps the lambda probe or seomthing else entirely.
Any help much appreciated.
Also, any ideas where I can get a replacement centre box with cat for this beautiful car of mine.
Many thanks

Hi,
For a cat u could try www.buypartsby.co.uk.
For a lambda try a decent factors like allparts automotive, should be able to get an OE bosch lambda for about £60. Don't waste time with a crappy halfords one.

Hi,
tighten throttle bodies and look for a vacuum leak in the intake plumbing.
do you experience a hotter than usual exhaust? it might indicate lean running
regards,
