A quick question about cam belts - I'm going to change the belts and tensioners on the Sud this weekend. How much tension do you apply to the belt as you lock the tensioner in place?
The manuals seem a bit vague - I get the sense that by tightening the lock-nut on the tensioner it will tighten up against the belt by itself. Do you apply _any_ pressure on the tensioner as you tighten the lock-nut? How much play should be in the belt when it's done up?
much appreciated,
Evan. _________________ http://www.trofeoalfasud.com

Hi Evan, basically the spring inthe tensioner does it for you. Sometimes a slight extra pressure is required . The test we use is to be able to just twist the belt 90 degrees on the side opposite the tensioner.
