Does anyone know what is the correct fuel pressure (in bar) for a 3rd series 33 1.7 16 V?
Measurements on mine have shown 3.2 bar, which I suspect is too much. I was also wondering whether this could cause too much fuel being supplied to the injectors?

Hi,

Pressure generated by the fuel pump is 2.8 - 3.2 bar - you are OK.

Also dont bother about too much fuel in your injectors since the pump delivers more fuel than the engine effectivelly requires-This is done in order the pump to anticipate the various loads that the engine will have depending on the driving conditions.

The above along with other devices such as the fuel pressure regulator, the correct amount of fuel is always given to the electroinjectors.

Thanks for the info. However, the fuel pressure on my engine was measured behind the fuel pressure regulator. That is we cut the fuel hose going to the injectors rail and fitted a manometer. I'm saying this because I'm trying to establish whether my fuel pressure regulator is working properly.
