Hi All,
I'm new to your forum but hoping you can help.
I'm a lecturer at Milton Keynes College in charge of the Motorsport courses.
The students are currently starting to put the plans together to build/refurb an early 70's single seat race car that has been 85% modified to take an Alfa Boxer.
We have been given a 1.5 33 (85hp type) with the car but our class in Monoposto lets us use anything up to 1750cc provided its only two valves per cylinder.
So we are after a complete carb (preferred) or injected 1.7 engine (even engines with problems such as head gaskets as we need to give any engine the once over anyway) along with a 1.5 litre gearbox as a spare due to its lower final drive ratio. Complete cars may be considered if cheap but I'm loathe to scrap cars which are generally OK.
We may also be after a decent exhaust manifold at some point but our predicted ride height my mean we have to make our own!
All offers of parts suitable will be considered and we can pick up any large items within a reasonable distance of Milton Keynes (150 miles).
Cheers

Will do.
I'll get the students to post some progress photos.
It took some persuading for the organisers to let us enter (against various Ford/Renault and Vauxhall engined cars) but I think the Flat Four rasp will make the class a bit more interesting (especially as we may have a power advantage over our competitors!).

Hi Julian
Alex (33 bits on here) might have a carbed engine available shortly.
He is picking up a car and depending on the condition of it he may break it.
Give him a call on 07896-327708

Hi
Choose the box carefully for the gearing. On the late cars the 1.5 and the 1.7 have the save gearing (the late 1.3 has a lower ratio diff though).
All the best
