hey guys, i plan on fitting larger better brakes off a 145/6 at a later stage and I believe that they need a 15" wheel or larger. My spare is only 14" so i have replaced it with a space saver from a 145.
What would you guys suggest i use to fill up the extra gap as the space saver is thinner. I was thinking of hard foam ring, like swimming floats, would something like this be available, maybe not for this purpose, any thoughts?
what's the name of the material used?

P4s have the bit you're after (a hard foam ring), but I don't have any spare!

Hi,

Just stick a sheet of hardboard over the well cut to size to suit boot floor. If You're planning on having anything heavy in the boot, use plywood or mdf etc.

Or cut the wheel well out and weld a flat piece in Al like I did and just carry a tyre weld foam canister for MOT purposes!.

thanks paulus,
there is about a 2" gap to fill, between the screw down bolt and the top of the steel wheel that holds the tyre in place, thats with it screwed all the way.
paul,
thanks for that, typical that you dont have one Wink
John,
I need to hold the wheel in place as it is not secure and moves about
oggie,
you got an angle grinder spare and a welder and want to do it for me Laughing

Wahooooooooo

Only thing is I need to try the screw down wheel clamp from the 145, or cut my thread in half, as it takes as long to tighten it down as it would to change the wheel. Laughing
