Hi everyone!

I'd like to replace my rear drums to disks. My car is a S3 1.4 4x2.
Searching at the scrapyards i managed to find a rear axle from a 4x4 with disks. My question is if it possible to fit them at 4x2 axle Confused
I need an answer soon as i m going to buy them tomorrow.

Regards,

I would doubt that it is possible, but I do not know for sure. Really you want to look for the 4x2 cars with rear discs.

Hi

Suspect it is possible, but it is a lot of extra weight to have the 4x4 back axle with diff just for the disks.

I was told many years ago that the hubs from the Uno Turbo could be fitted to the back of a 33. Don't know anyone who has done it though.

All the best

Keith

You dont have to change the rear axel. You just remove the drums and put those from a 16v alfa since they have the same mounting points. The only thing you have to consider is when you purchace the rear disk calipers and disks , also to remove the handbrake cables and the brake tubes .

The brake lines are differerent in drum setup since the line from the pressure distributor goes to the left drum and from there there is another line going to the right drum.

I have forgoten to take the brake lines and i had to use extensions in order to work...

Thank you all for your replies! I have to search now for the correct one.
Nowadays these parts are getting so hard to find here in Greece!

Well i had to go to scrapyard in Leoforo Nato to find parts. You should do it , you will find a lot of stuff.... I have found lots of thing for my sprint and it is quite easier for 33. Pm me for more details or visit me in the greek forum....I have also uploaded in the Sprint section a coplete guide of the procedure from drums to disks..
If anyone else want i can upload the photos here...
